United Solo Theatre Festival
I Wont Be In On Monday

Written & Performed by

ANNE STOCKTON is an actress, playwright and psychiatrist. She first performed I WON'T BE IN ON MONDAY at Carnegie Stage in Carnegie, Pennsylvania (Off the Wall Productions) in the fall of 2017. It was then a selection for Off the Wall's THIS FORNIGHT IS FEMALE festival at Urban Stages (NYC) in early 2018. The piece was inspired by her work as an Actor/Trainer with NYPD's Hostage Negotiation Team and Emergency Service Unit as well as her extensive experience doing psychiatric evaluations.

Her first collaboration with director Austin Pendleton was THE SPEED QUEEN (a solo show adapted from the novel THE SPEED QUEEN by Stewart O'Nan). THE SPEED QUEEN was performed at the Culture Project's Women Center Stage festival, New Jersey Repertory Company and the Midtown International Theater Festival (winner Outstanding Performance in a Solo Show). (www.thespeedqueen.net) It was also performed for inmates at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility and Sing Sing Prison.

Other New York theater credits include AMERICAN CAESAR at Theatre Three, WEEKEND WITH BOB (Paradise Theatre – written by Tom Noonan), POSTCODE (HERE – American Living Room Festival), VEGETARIAN CARVES THE BIRD (J.E.T. Theatre). Film credits include BUT (lead), THE DARK KNIGHT (supporting – Indie SAG feature directed by Eric Farber), JUST ANOTHER DAY (lead – NYU thesis film). Television credits include GUIDING LIGHT and LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN.

Training has included technique and scene study with Bill Esper, Austin Pendleton, and Ron Van Lieu, monologue study with Karen Kohlhaas, improvisation with Paul Sills, and movement for actors with Lloyd Williamson and Janice Orlandi.
